12 Step Facilitation
The word facilitate means to make something easier. You will be given an understanding of the principles processes and meaning of the suggested Step program. First impressions, fixed beliefs, intellectual objections and contempt prior to investigation are encouraged and will be discussed at depth.
At Its heart, 12 Step recovery is a personal program of change that involves new functional action. This action can be described as right action or doing the right thing for the right reason in all your affairs it can been described as spiritual.... Please note this is not spiritual in the religious sense!
Written in “therapy” speak it can be described as Behaviour Cognitive Therapy or in colloquial language “Bring your Body and the Mind will follow” or “Move a muscle change a thought” or “ You act your way into a new way of thinking rather than think your way into a new way of acting” The 12 Step program, when fully engaged with, is by far the most powerful change program I have seen.
It will have benefits for you that go far beyond a fix for your presenting problem. It is a universal solution for the problem of personal dis-empowerment in whatever arena that is experienced and for that reason is one of the greatest gifts that has been given to mankind in the 20th century.
Its beauty is that it was not developed by the scientist, academic, physician, scholar or cleric but.... by alcoholics for alcoholics. In and of itself this is quite remarkable as a social phenomenon and I invite you to consider, seek out and experience, the program’s mechanisms of change.
